Re: 327 crate

Nobody makes a 'crate" 327 and GM stopped making 327's in the 60's so you are about to go looking in junkyards

Of course you could always buy a easy to find 350 engine and make it into a 327

Re: 327 crate

Or better yet just get a crate 350 and enjoy the extra horsepower and torque that the extra displacement provides.

Like they mentioned above, you can buy a 350 and destroke it. You WILL get better hp/tq numbers with a 350, but if you arent too worried about power then i see nothing wrong with going to a 327.

Question is why would you pay good $$$ to take a power cut when you could put some 327 decals on the rocker covers and most people would be none the wiser ?
Anyhow , for the same ( probably cheaper ) money you could stroke it to a 383 and have lots more power

I cant answer that because i personally went with a 383 and am in the middle of the build now, but if he is really set on a 327 and doesnt care as much about power then he is ABLE to make a 327.

Of course "good price" is extremely subjective, but...
