Re: Swapping engines 92 rs camaro
You will need:
Fuel lines
Power steering line
Extensive modification to the wiring harnesses from your car and the LT1 to make one harness that works.
T56 swap crossmember
T56 clutch master/slave assy
Preferribly some good headers and Y pipe
Custom a/c hoses if you want a/c, and to notch the K member for the a/c compressor
Some sort of air intake, you can easily make one from 3.5" tubing and a filter
Better would be an LS1, but the cost goes up a good bit for them, LT1 is a great choice if your goals are sub 430 RWHP NA.

Re: Swapping engines 92 rs camaro
cheapest get a LS1 edelbrock intake 750 carb a med size cam spacer for the flywheel and a electric pump
sell the LS1 intake and get 100 back rougly
LS1 maybe 800 to 1200 or a 5.3 you can get for 500
edelbrock intake with MSD controler 650
fuel pump for the carb or use stock pump 100
mounts and spacer 150
cam 300
should get you close to 400 but you will be in the mid to high 300s
A LQ9 showroom stock cam and L92 heads with a edelbrock intake and 750 carb was 505 hp and cost 3300 to build

Sure it will improve performance, but not going to get you the kind of performance an LT1 or LS1 will without a lot of changing and $$$, provided you want something you can daily drive enjoyably.

Re: Swapping engines 92 rs camaro
Bit of a breakdown and explanation on this stuff.
None of the stock existing fuel lines work from a thirdgen, with an LT1, LS1, swap, for the most part no matter what you do you'll likely end up having to do something with your fuel system, so this is a moot point.
Consider this maintenance, chances are yours is old and worn out, not really a big deal breaker here.
The LT1 and LS1 engine computers are much better systems, and while doing your own harness is certainly doable, often people dont truely know whats needed to make something thats reliable, and done right. Even people that claim they know what they're doing, often dont. Though once done right, you should never have to touch it again.
These are needed for the T56, the T5 in your car is weak, chances are right along with the power steering hose, your hyd system is old and worn anyway, the strength difference of the T56 is WELL worth it.
Again, if you are trying to go faster you have to do this anyway.
The LT1 front accessorys are layed out different, so the existing a/c hoses/lines will not work, again this is one of those things that you only need to do once, on the bright side your alternator goes from the 105 amp unit, to a 140A, or 124A alternator.
Again, no matter what you do, you'll need this.
Better would be an LS1, but the cost goes up a good bit for them, LT1 is a great choice if your goals are sub 430 RWHP NA.[/QUOTE]
If you want everything done right, figure on about $2000 total on top of the cost of the LT1/T56 if its complete. At that point you should be able to get around $500 for your T5 setup, if not a little more, the stock front serp accessorys are worth something as a complete setup. And you may get something out of the TBI setup also.
