402 BIG BLOCK 6.6L Carburated
My Brother says he's gonna put the 402 into his 89 RS, do you guys think its possible? i know its possible but is it worth it? what do you guys think?
hes got 427 Corvette Heads freshly ported and polished and a big Edelbrock intake and Carb, i don't know what else but its pretty big for this car

A 402 is just a 396 bored out. All short deck BBC engines from 396 to 540+ will easily fit. Mine has been punched out to a 588 but it's still in a short deck block.
The advantage of a 402 BBC compared to a 400 SBC is the heads. The bigger heads can get more air into the cylinder to make power easier than the SBC engine can do.
