tpi to carb swap
i need to know some details on all that entails doin this swap...
would it be better to use the factory pump and get a regulator with a return? OR drop the tank, pull the factory pump and use an inline holly red. (that i have)
also ive been hearin a little chatter about the trans needing some sort of lock up? i have a rebuilt 700r4 with a corvette converter 2100 i think.
my dad also has a 90 camaro with the same yr trans and we just left it unpluged (the 4 hole plug on the trans) we have since put a stroker motor in it but it was carbed when we bought it and have never had to swap efi to carb please help
thanks

Re: tpi to carb swap
Why would you want to go to all that trouble when you fit a by-bass reg in the engine bay and be done with it
The T700 has a lockup convertor controlled by the computer.
When you go to carb you no longer have any means of locking the convertor up
so you need to install some means of doing it ( rewiring )
Same with the fans and fuel pump also controlled by the TPI computer

Re: tpi to carb swap
Depends if the trans was converted to NON lockup convertor ( not common except for race trans )
and a special aftermarket non lockup convertor installed in which case you need no wiring to the trans

Do you have a day spare to R/R the tank

then have to modify the fuel line , install and wire up the new fuel pump?
