L98 '85 Vette swap

Hey guys. So I need a little bit of help with my engine swap I am doing. I got an 85 L98 engine from a corvette and the block/heads are perfect, so we rebuilt it. The problem is now that everything is in and hooked up to my Throttle Body (which I know that the computer is set up for the 305 that was in there, not this 350) but besides that, when we first started it, it would idle and kind of bog out after it warmed up. It also would back fire a bit. Is this cause by maybe not having the valves lashed correctly or maybe try a carb or what?

You just stated your major problem
A 350 engine needs a 350 prom( tune ) in the computer and 350 knock sensor in the block
And you don't even mention what year car the engine is in and whether you used MAF or MAP setup ?????????

Yeah I am pretty new to this but I do know that we are running a MAP sensor I believe, it is an 89 Camaro that had the 305 TBI in it, and we think the knock sensor is correct

So you put the 305 TBI on the TPI engine ? ( helps to mention important little fact like that when asking questions.)
Most would assume you installed the L98 complete with the TPI intake as most guys do.

The moment you remove the intake it is not a L98 anymore ; just a regular 350 SBC so no need to mention what it came out of; just confuses everything
Bottom line is ; you now have a 350 TBI; you need a 350TBI prom in your computer and 350 TBI injectors in your TB

Re: L98 '85 Vette swap

Well technically it was an l98 because it used to have the injectors and the rails on the 350 when I first got it. But to buy the rest of the system for it is too expensive. Plus the rails and injectors were charred in the fire lol. And sorry for not giving all the information at once. I am new here so bare with me. I know need to either reprogram the computer or get a carb. But if I do decide to get a carb instead, what would be my next step?

Technically irrelevant once the intake is gone
