383 AFR Vortec dyno
Didnt know which forum to post this but, this may be of some intrest to any looking for a 383 using the vortec afrs. I built this motor for my 97 tahoe but am running an hsr on it but it was dynoed with a single plane and a 750. Was built by L&R in CA. Here are the specs:
383
9.7-1
a custom cam ground exactly to the xfi268 specs
scat internals with forged pistons
Was built not including intake for under 6000.
428hp
478ft lbs
With an hsr westec told me look for another15-20hp with torque about the same. Couldnt come up with a manifold until 2 weeks after it was dynoed. Lower compression was chosen because it is a street vehicle and you could run 89 in although it was dynoed with 91 octane. Im sure with a bump in compression to mid 10s or 11 a sizable increase in hp and torque would result. I will post the sheet when I get the motor, which is in the next 2 weeks. Take care.
