Re: New engine!

If you can find a hi-temp paint in pink, go for it. I'm all for painting parts.

Re: New engine!

Unless you have other pink stuff on the car to tie it in, I'd say no. The other thing is that the pink is going to be very, very noticeable, and because it's a lighter color, it's going to show all of the dirt. It may look nice at first, but after a while it's just going to look dirty and nasty. I'd stick with a black block. In the long run it'll look nice longer. If you want to bring some pink in, consider painting the valve covers and maybe the air cleaner pink.

"hello kitty" stickers on the valve covers
Ouch...

Reminds me of someone around where I once lived, that built alot of round-track motors, for things like hobby sprint cars, where the motor is pretty much out in the open. His signature paint was this garish pink-purple, like some kind of cheap hooker's fingernail polish. You could spot his motors from a half-mile away. Worse yet, if you painted his motor any other color, he would refuse to build you any more.

Anyway, I'd say, go for it. On the list of things that's important to me personally, engine color is so far down it's not even on it. People can't see my engine through my back bumper as they're getting their spanking, so why should I care what color it is?
