350 tbi/tpi Frankenstein

I've got a 305 TPI from an '87 trans am I was thinking about swapping into my '91 Camaro 305 TBI but have decided to go the 350 tpi route instead. I found a good deal on an '87 350 TBI motor and was thinking about swapping the intake setup off the 305 TPI onto the 350. My only question is what is the difference between 350 TBI heads and 350 TPI heads and would I benefit from swapping my 350 TBI heads for a set of 350 TPI heads?

Yes. The B2L heads are decent heads. The L05 heads are pretty much trash. I'd also strongly suggest that you pick out a new cam. The L05 cam was terrible. An inexpensive, mild flat tappet cam for that L05 will make a world of difference

I was told by a couple people to pull an LT1 cam for it but i'm thinking there's probably something better in the aftermarket world for a good price without getting too drastic.

LT1 is factory roller lifter. In order to use it, the LO5 would have to have been machined for those provisions (the casting is roller-ready, but sometimes the machining wasn't finished for truck engines).

Speaking of good deals: http://sdparts.com/details/scoggin-d...er/sd8060ratpi

Then use an LT4 Hot Cam in it.
