350 TBI with 4l60 swap
I got an 89 camaro Rs, and I got a 94 chevy 1500 2wd pickup with 5.7 TBI v8 and 4l60e transmission. Is it possible to swap the engine and transmission into the camaro and what all would I need to do to make this possible. The camaro is currently a 5spd 2.8v6. I cut the camaro wiring harness so Im needing options. What all would I need to do to make this swap possible

pull the stock engine, trans, wiring harness and computer from the camaro. pull the engine, trans, wiring harness, and computer from the 94, place all of that in the camaro. the driver side wiring harness needs to be left alone. and youll have to move the motor mounts to the v8 spot, and possibly change front springs.

1) Read the "V6 to V8 swap" sticky.
2) Pull the engine and transmission and all of the harnesses attached to them, and the PCM, out of the truck.
3) Pull the tailshaft housing off of the tranny and put on an f-body housing (or get an aftermarket torque arm that mounts to the crossmember, has its own crossmember, or uses a driveshaft tunnel saddle).
4) Put that stuff into the Camaro per the sticky.
5) Get a V8 Camaro radiator. You'll also need V8 Camaro TBI application hoses, throttle cable, fuel lines, fuel pump.
You'll have to figure out some way to drive the speedometer. I believe '89 Camaro was still cable drive. You might be able to convert the tranny to cable drive, and use the '89 VSS to feed the PCM. I don't know the details, but others might. Or, you could keep the tranny as it is, and get a Dakota Digital Camaro cluster. http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.c...rod&prd781.htm
