Going back to the dark side....

Hi guys, long time no see. I punch myself for selling my 87 GTA that had a 383 with a T56 in it.. I sold it about 8 months ago. I miss that car like crazy. It made 365HP and 427TQ on the dyno at the wheels. It was a great car.

Now I drive an 01 Silverado 2500 with a 6.0 and a 4l80E. The powertrain is solid, but the body and the rest of the truck is rough. It was a work truck. Im contemplating on buying another F-body and go about the swap. Does anyone know of any build threads that are using the 4l80E? I would rather run a T56, but money is an issue right now. I figured I would keep the 4l80E until I met the right guy at the drag strip with a T56 that cant drive stick well and wants the 80E for the consistent times

I also can't decide between a Firebird or the Camaro. I loved the Firebird, but I feel like if Im going to go through the trouble of another project.. might as well do something different. How bad are the T-top cars if your running lots of power? I definitely am going to run a turbo setup when I actually build the engine and get the 6 speed. I found a few t-top cars, but I really miss the hardtop my gta had. Decisions... let me know what you guys think. Also I have searched, but if anyone knows of any "red flags" this swap will pose, let me know! I want to do this as cheap as possible. Thanks!
