I must ask why? There are so many v8 options for Chevy... To each their own I guess but I just couldn't picture popping the hood and a ford motor sitting in there.

Re: 88 Firebird V6 to 302
i just dont like the chevy motors lol i was raised around mustangs and i just reciently got this firebird and i just thought it'd be cool to put a 302 or a 351 in it. i like the camaros firebirds and mustangs just wanting to mix it up a bit lol so i was thinkin of puttin a camaro front end on it and a ford motor lol so i can have all three cars in one lol i just thought it'd be neat cause its not something you see everyday

i wouldnt do it. even old ford hot rod owners drop in chevy 350's. its cool that you wanna be different but id find another way to do so. just not logical. even a 305 would be a better choice i think. cant beat a chevy, there called Found On Road Dead and F*ckd On Race Day for a reason lol. but hey, if thats what u want, power to you but i wouldnt recommend it and im sure many people here wouldnt be able to help you with that.

while it sounds like an interesting swap, i think most will agree its not going to be easy, cheap, or have much info out there. you're going to have to do a lot of fab work to get it to mount up and figure out exhaust.
If you're looking to get more bang for your buck, sell the setup and grab an LSx setup; less fabrication needed, more info for troubleshooting, and swap parts are easy to come by.

Mustangs with SBC 350's, Mustangs with LS1's - see them all the time.
You don't see 3rd gens with 5.0's, though.
Hmmm....

Re: 88 Firebird V6 to 302
yah i just havent heard to many good things about the 305 or 350 i just want a motor with decent horse power and that will keep up with the mustangs lol and i could just take the car up town and have a guy i know fabricate an exhaust for it for like 300 but it just sounds like iam going to be spending alot of money so i might just go with a 350.. and will my trans bolt to it? i have hear it will but its hard to believe that it would hold up.
