I see no PNM suffix number listed. Are you sure that's the correct letters?

If the heads are off it you can usually tell just by looking at the cylinders.

Yeah, whats weird is, that it says its a roller 305, when I pulled it apart, it had a flat tappet cam and lifters. ?? Any insight on that?? Im really confused. I think as stated on another post, Im going to just get a 350 and start that build instead I was really hoping the motor in it was a 350. poop

Trucks had flat tappet cams, and people often replace roller cams with a cheaper flat tappet.

Ok, I didnt know you could do that. I thought you must stay roller if it was roller. Wonder if it would be benificial to get a roller set up, or still screw the whole thing and get a 350?

SBCs designed for roller cams also had provisions for flat tappet style cams. The reverse is not true, though retrofit kits do exist to convert from flat tappet to hydraulic roller cams. Though I am uncertain as to how well they work.

Any flat tappet engine can be converted to roller cam. You just need to use roller lifters with a link bar because the lifter bores don't have alignment slots to hold OEM style roller lifters. The link bar between 2 lifters keeps them in alignment.

Thanks for the info. So that explains why he had new push rods from sealed power in the motor. He prob had to get a different length cause he went flat tappet. Well, I stayed with a flat tappet cam, but have different rockers, wonder if I can use the push rods he has? Would different rockers matter to the push rod length?

Probably not, but you should measure to see.
