1984 Berlinetta 305 to 350 swap. help =/
Ok so my cars engine is starting to blow blue smoke. piston ring yeah i know whatevers good. What im looking to do is possibly find an engine from a donor car such as a wrecked vehicle. 1. I'd like to know what i'd have to change over when making the initial engine swap. i have the 4bbl carbed id say staying carbed would be easiest? 2. what kind of engine would be most recommended any specific models? 3. im sure the engine would bolt onto the tranny but i dont know if it would be able to handle it. i think its the A4 trans. any help would seriously be appreciated. Also located in Philadelphia, PA if anyone has a motor for sale. thanks again

A 350 will bolt right in and run fine with your stock carb setup, as long as it's not too radical. The 700R4 should hold up well unless it's already on it's last legs.
My recommendation would be to swap in a later, 1 pc RMS - roller cam motor although this would require you to change your flexplate. The L31 from a late 90's truck would be my pick.
