Check out this LT5/6-spd for $10K.....
Well I have some money to spend ($10K to be exact) and I'm been tossing around the idea of an LT5/ZF-6 speed swap into a 5-spd 91-92 GTA. I plan to do the full 4th gen interior and also a C4 IRS swap. Well I have some freakin great news, I found a totally complete 90-92 375HP LT5 w/28K miles with the ZF-6 spd and EVERYTHING for the swap, fuel pump, ECM, everything! Check out the best part, they only want $10K!!!!!!! Sweet!!!!!
Now I am a little disapointed though. I was looking for the 93-95 4-bolt 405HP version but they don't have any Should I settle for the 375HP 2-bolt main version with EVERYTHING I need for a complete conversion including the 6-spd or should I hold out for the 405HP version??????? This is win-win though right? Are these engines going up in value? I mean, if I spend $10K on this combo I could easily get my money back and then some one the engine if I decide not to go through with it right?

Do an LS1/LS6 or LT1/LT4 swap and save yourself the trouble, figure 3500 getting an LT1 and T56 in then you got 6500 to mod, put a good solid rear, and the rest mod away.

The other guys said it best..... Do you know someone with a zr1. I went to high school with a guy that had one and he spent A LOT of money on his car and maintance of the motor. If you do buy the motor think about how hard it is to find parts and the cost for general tune ups. If you have money growing on trees and you have to have a lt5 check out this site they have found a way to get more than 400 hp out of the motor you found. www.callawaycars.com They make some bad a** cars but prepare to pay up.

400 HP sucks for 10000..... (in a nice way)
anynways, super chevy did an iroc buildup,
LT1 ported heads, ,headers, exaust, couple other things.... 426 HP with 21 and 29 MPG..
you tell me...

LT5 = Lotus Heads = 32 Vavle = holy **** parts would be ****ing expense if you had to redo those heads.
Do what other said and swap LT1/4 or LS1/6 and T-56 is better swap (well cheaper) then ZF6 because it is german???
Besides you could get the new 405hp LS6 and T-56 that the new 02 vette has.

That was a nice motor...405hp out of a small block that idle with no real lope to it...a real sleeper. The ZF tranny is very expensive too, to keep up. If you are going to continue to get $10K lumps go for it. I personally like the world products MoTown or anything Bill Mitchell. The IRS won't get you that much. A well sorted live axle set-up can handle and hold as well, especially for us no pro road racers (I see it at the track every weekend). Or just invest it, making money can be fun too.

Man it's just not worth it.There are
other ways to go for power.G.M did one on
a camaro(they have it with the Legends Tour)
but I don't think it was that fast because they never let any of the magazine poeple
test it.It also had a ZF6speed.But thats not
the way.It would cost you another 10k to
put all that stuff in the car.I can't even
start to think how much it would cost to have work done on it.
