A General Motor Question.
I bought a Buick 455 a couple months ago. I was planning on putting in the my 1988 Camaro. I've decided that if I could trade the 455 for a Chevy Small Block, then I'd put the small block in the Camaro, but if I can't trade I'll stick with the 455. Now, I've stripped the 455 down to where the pistons are visible. (Don't ask why, please.) I haven't paid much attention to where I put what. So my question is, "Does it matter which cylinder head goes on which side?" Also, "how can I figure out the firing order?" Thank you for reading my long question. Any input gladly accepted!

why would you want to downgrade your engine?? the 455 is a absolute powerhouse! keep it! also it doesnt matter which side the heads go on, and the fireing order will be on the intake manifold and is the same as most all other GM engines, also do NOT strip it down any further unless you plan on rebuilding everything.

The reason for down-grading, is because it's going to be a daily driver for me. I know that gas is going down, but then again it's going back up too! Those 455's come with 360HP and about 510lbs/ft of torque. If I did keep it, it'd be hard to find parts for it. I can't find nothing in Jeg's, or in Summit having to do with Buick. All they have are Pontiac, and Oldsmobile 455 parts. They do differ in certain ways, which I'm not sure how.

like they allways tell me in jegs and summit "we only have about 30% of what we have in the magizines, tell us what you want and we will have it!" also check out www.taperformance.com
