My LT1 needs more power

Mustang are in my back, police car too but it's just not enough ! I want to get something at about 500$ that would give me pretty decent boost. I'd like to get about the same gas milleage. I already got header and a good exaust system.

roller rockers 1.6 ---> hp ???
lt4 cam --------------> hp ???
ported head triangle valve job and 2.02 valve ----> hp ???

i don't want all of these at same time, I'd like to know how much hp these part can add.

Im gonna say that the LT4 HOT cam would probably be the best bang for the buck, but the LT1 cam is nothing to laugh at. If you do the heads, do the cam at the same time. The increase you see from the rockers is not going to be much, I've heard something like 10-15 after changing from stamped steel 1.5 to roller 1.6, mostly frictional gains and little from the valve lift.

Gears. 2.73's are pre-overdrive mileage friendly garbage.

Throw in some 3.23/3.43's for an automatic or some 3.73's for your stick and now you're laughin'.

I love my 3.73's, except for the traction issue.

I have heard the Comp Cams Xtreme LT1 cam is very good for a mildly to mid modified LT1. Part # 07-305-8
I have this in my LT1 and as soon as my rear end is fininshed being set up and the wires are hooked up to the engine, I'll let you know how it does.

Car: 91 Camaro RS Convertible
Engine: 385ci LT1 cnc ported heads big cam
Transmission: 4L60E automatic
Axle/Gears: 3.42 Zexel posi 7.5" rear
The 3.42 would be the best bang for your $500 budget and won't screw up your gas mileage. You might drop 1 or 2 mpg but that would be it. If you could do all the work yourself the 3.42 and the LT4 hot cam would be and awesome bang for the buck combo.

Well I don't think 4.10 and lt4 hot cam kit is such a great idea, it's a daily drivers. I had a set of 3.42 in my v6 camaro but now it's gone to the scrap yard... it had only 26 spline anyway so lets forget about that. MM89iroc, how much you paid for that Xtreme Cam ??? how much power is the company saying ???

Mat89RS....
I too had the 26 spline rear(2.73 open also)...and that is one thing that is slowing my swap down...waiting for the guy to finish the rearend setup. We changed the rear to 28 spline, 3.42 gears, and a posi unit.
The cam cost 239.99 from Summit. you will also need a valve spring kit 986-16 (which I think was 131.99 - if my notes are correct)
I don't know the exact HP that the cam is susposed to have...Compcams told me that it is different for every engine depending on what else you are doing to it. With my setup, they said it would turn around 6500rpm with no problem (I don't think I'll try that(maybe once or twice) - I want this engine to last).
As soon as my car is finished, we are going to have it dynoed and take it to the track.
I'll let everyone know how it does and post all my upgrades along with the numbers...

I tend to think the LT4 hotcam and 4.10's is a great idea for daily drivers. I love mine off the line and it'll still run 160 if i cared to go that fast.
