BBC headers, sanderson or hooker super comps?
which fit better? im gonna need to order a pair in about 2 weeks and im not sure which to go with...
the sanderson's are only $285 and theyre suppose to fit 70'-92' bbc camaros... 1-7/8" primaries, 3" collectors...
then theres hooker super comps... $365...
which is better, and more importantly which fits better?

70-92? I doubt it unless they are a shorty style and even then I doubt it. The chassis is different and second gen headers won't work on third gen etc.
I just installed a set of Hookers on my car. It's not a direct fit, bolt on operation. Frame, crossmember, lower control arm mounts and floor modifications are required as well as having to lift the engine high to get them in.
I never heard of Sanderson headers but you get what you pay for.
The easiest to install would be a set of cast iron manifolds.
I just took a look at the Sandersonheaders web site. Their headers are nothing like Hookers. They look more between full length and shorties and designed more for street use. From how they look, the installation should be easier.
Hooker's are considered SuperComp headers. Although they can be used on the street, they are more designed for racing.

Best results before the 383 blew up
Best ET on a time slip: 11.857 altitude corrected to 11.163
Best MPH on a time slip: 117.87 altitude corrected to 126.10
Altitude corrected rear wheel HP based on power to weight ratio: 476.5
Best 60 foot: 1.662
Racing at 3500 feet elevation but most race days it's over 5000 feet density altitude!

are you talking about the 3rdgen bbc swap hooker super comps? or are you using just a set of regular hooker's?
the headers are gonna be for street use... so is the car actually... not really a daily driver, just something to drive every now and then...
does anyone know if the 3rdgen bbc swap headers need a whole lot of modification to install?

I used the third gen swap hooker super comp headers and it took a lot of modifing to get them to fit correctly. (Info is on my page).

also look at nhra super stock headers. I use jack davis headers in my car and they fit like a glove (no cutting/welding or engine contortions). they are not cheap ($700) but you get what you pay for. the hookers are so small 1 7/8 x 3" collector, i wonder if they are worth the effort as opposed to a good factory manifold.
