i have an 87 firebird with the 2.8 v6 and a standard tranny how can i put the 260 v8 out of my 76 ventura in my firebird and use the same tranny out of the firebird and what all would i have to modify on the car to do this or would it be best if it is possible to just use a chevy 350 turbo behind the olds

An Olds 260?!?! you must be hurting for $$. You can't put your 5 speed behind it, and using the chev trans requires an adapter, but if you can't afford a better engine, you sure can't afford a custom exhaust to make that engine work, nor the changes for the driveshaft and torque arm.

you still have issues with the exhaust, driveshaft and torque arm. Leave that crappy 260 alone. Let it rust in peace. It's not that hard to find a running Chevy 305 for under $200.
