Need Pinouts. Please Cure Headache!

I am in the process of completing a TPI swap in my 1990 rs and i am having an issue with the fuel pump circuit not functioning.

THE FACTS
:

-The car is a 1990 Camaro rs and came with a 305 TBI auto.

-The engine and wiring all came out of an 87 Trans Am Gta, and it is a 350 MAF TPI auto setup.

-It has all new sensors

-All of my relays are in working condition

-All of the sensors and plugs has been appropriately placed

-The fuel pump has been replaced to an 87 TPI pump (it has been tested and works fine)

-The Car wiring worked perfect with the last engine harness

-The Trans Am motor and Harness had no issues.

-The Trans Am motor blew and i had the motor professionally rebuilt. I then proceeded to swap the setup into the 90 rs because the 305 tbi blew also

THE ISSUE:

-Something is wrong with the fuel pump circuit.

-Everything else has been tested for power and ground and works correctly

-The sensors and plugs have all been checked and rechecked based on appropriate diagrams

-The pump will only turn on if it is powered with a jump wire.

The main issue is the fuel pump does not turn on when the key is turned to the on position. I need for the pump to turn on and function correctly.

Where could my problem possibly be? Could it be because i put an 87 harness in a 90 car? Thus causing a connection problem at the bulk head?

I have ran out of options and ideas and i could really use some help. Thank You all.

Re: Need Pinouts. Please Cure Headache!

When I put my 88 TPI engine (from an IROC-Z) into my 92 RS I ran into the same problem. I had to surf around to SEVERAL dealerships until I found one that carried a manual with the pinouts for the C100 block (on the firewall) for both vehicles. I had to repin several wires in that, then I had to cut a yellow wire on the ECM that lead power to ground and fried my accessory fuse everytime I turned the key. After that everything worked fine!

I hope this helped!

Re: Need Pinouts. Please Cure Headache!

It's been 5 years since I've done that. So I don't think I have those papers anymore. I will dig through some things, but even if I did, they might not match what you have. If my memory is accurate, the tools I used were a precision flat head screw driver and a thick paper clip. Sounds odd... but it worked. There is a plastic retainer clip in there, just push it over with the screw driver, then sometimes I had to push the pin out from the opposite side with the paper clip. As I said before this was 5 years ago, but that's what I recall doing to it to get the pins out. The hardest part was driving from dealership to dealership trying to find the c100 wiring diagrams. But I found what I needed in one day. I think I went to 3 or 4 places and had to wait forever for someone to find the time to leaf through the old books.

Good luck!

---I'm assuming you already swapped the ECM into the rs---

Re: Need Pinouts. Please Cure Headache!

I'm pretty sure my papers are long gone. I should have saved them anyway because I have a similar project coming up... oh well. I suppose I'll do it the same way I did last time.

Glad I could help. again, good luck.
