383 with 305 flexplate
plain and simple will it work
i have the flexplate off my 305 and the flexplate that came with my 383 stroker kit doesnt bolt to my torq converter
budget doesnt really allow me to buy a new converter so will this work the kit uses a stock 400 flexplate and its just a stock replacement 305 flexplate
thnx

Re: 383 with 305 flexplate
The flexplate may physically bolt up, but you can only use it if your motor is internally balnced, some 383s are and some are not. The way to tell is to look at your 383 flexplate and see if there is a balance weight welded to it or not. If there is no weight, than your 305 flexplate should work, otherwise you will have to buy a new 400 flexplate, I believe they only cost about 20 bucks anyway.
EDIT
Now I see that the kit calls for a 400 flexplate, no, you can not use the 305 flexplate, you can buy the smaller diameter flexplate for a 400 so that it will bolt to your converter, it will just have to be orderd through sumit rather than bought at autozone I imagine
