Crate Engine
Hey just wondering if anyone knows of a good place that I could find a good quality crate engine. Preferably online since I live in the southwest and don't have as many local resources for this type of situation.
Thanks

Jegs (where I purchased mine) or Summit. If you do a net search, I'm sure you'll find dozens.

Where in the Southwest? There are a bunch of outfits in the Phoenix area.
Two of my brothers bought a rebuilt from this outfit http://www.rebuilt-auto-engines.com/...38108466165.68 . Both are quite happy, one has been in for 4 years now.

Re: Crate Engine
Got mine right from GM. 2 year / 80km warranty, and turnkey. I had the problem of availability as well here in Ontario. I was going to pick one up from Pace Auto but the dealer actually got a better engine for me - for the same price (ZZ4 to 385 Fastburn).

Re: Crate Engine
Hey guys,
Just wanted to say thanks for the info. Five7Kid, I live in southwest New Mexico in a little city called Las Cruces. I appreciate all the info from you guys. I found a Shop down here where I live that rebuilds engines and I think i've decided to go with them. Its gunna cost me about 1300 to get it redone, and everything he's going to do sounds pretty good. He's actually going to start with a block he already has. It's a 4-bolt main, with the one piece rear main seal. He's going to bore it .30 over and use chrome pistons. He's going to go up one on the cam; rebuild the heads and assemble and balance for me. It's going to take about 5 days for him to get it done for me. Anyone have any additional suggestions or thoughts on this. It's going to be my first time doing this so I'm hoping i'm making a good decision. Still doing research on this though.
