Re: 700r4
Not much. 250whp tops
Mines just been recently refreshed with stock parts, and im pretty scared to really launch it, im probably pretty close to the limits.
Could try adding a tranny cooler and making sure its got plenty of fluid and a fresh filter and thatll go a way in helping it survive. Also Corvette Servo will help too. And if youre going to step on it, dont do it in overdrive

Re: 700r4
Pro-Built automatics has the best 700r4 out there. The guys on pinks with 500hp are definitely not running stock 700r4s.

Re: 700r4
It's been a while since I rebuilt with Dana's best kit for my 700, but I considered switching (I have a 4L80 in the garage). Things to consider with a change away from the 700- overall trans dimension changes and effect on driveshaft, crossmember, torque arm, overall lower ground clearance, other stuff under there including trans tunnel mods maybe. Will you need a trans computer. What impact will the gearing change have (it may not be what you want). 4L80 is heavier too.
I'm not clear what your comment about staying with TPI has to do with it tho?
