If all you want is a cheap crate motor, you can go down to your local parts store and get a remanufactured engine over the counter.

find out who did it and shoot them.... haha jk but yeah upgrade to a 350, a 305 is only good for a gas saver and a 305-350 swap isnt much of a hassle at all. I thought about keeping my 305 in but ive decided on a used 350 crate engine from a buddy of mine and finding another 3rd gen to drop my 305 into. But jegs or summit is a good place to shop, also my friend just bought a gm 350 crate engine for under 2500, ill ask where he got it and let you know.... Also ive already dumped a good 2k or so into my 305 and sorry to say but my 3.1l 97 vortech supercharged Grand Am GT will smoke this car, but i have to admit the only thing my TA can do that my GA cant... BURNOUTS!!!!!!

pretty much everything is the same, depending on what kind of 350 you get, TBI,TPI or vortech you will need the computer for it. other then that all the mounts and whatnot are the same. Just search your local junkyards for 350's with low miles. Most times you can pick one up for less then 250 then use the rest of the money for upgrades and whatnot....

Re: ok so i threw a rod the other night

exactly just a fast street car thats still ok on gas hahah
my manifold is for a 305/350 so im straight on that i thought it would be a really big hassle putting a 350 in but if its not that big o deal im just gonna do it n maybe i can find a 700r in the junkyard for cheap and if the motor and trans is cheap maybe have enough money for another rear

well it came off his 88 chevy pickup and it has a posi unit installed but we measured the dana and a thirdgen rear end and it will fit under the car with some slight modification.
