spun bearing

Hello there, i suppose I just need some advice. Bought an 87 iroc vincode 8
and it spun a bearing pretty bad. Id like to swap the engine with somthing simple that would still be a 350, to make it easy and cheap.
I dont know what my options are, ive read about the 350 vortec swap and i have access to buy a truck engine locally, but im not really into buying that tpi adapter manifold or the prom. (cost and yuckyness) also id like to have it still be a roller motor.
are there any other engines that are roller that i could just bolt up my tpi system to -id like to keep it TPI. Im in canada and im having a hard time finding a low priced engine to swap . basically just looking for an engine to swap and just put the tpi right on it. thanks and HAVE A NICE DAY

Re: spun bearing

You don't have much choice for perfectly simple swaps.
You could look at a roller block from 1990 caprice/truck (or newer). Make sure it's got provisions for roller parts.
Then swap in your existing cam and heads. Fair bit of work there.

Or there may be Vortec engines at the wrecking yard, where someone has already come by and snatched the heads off it. Everybody loves vortec heads. So you could snag the shortblock there. Swap in your cam if you want, and bolt on your existing heads and intake.

My two brothers got a rebuilt 350 from these guys for their light trucks
http://www.rebuilt-auto-engines.com/...48108403187.89

One brother was a little more performance oriented, he got the one above with 083 heads, roller lifters, etc. Neither of them bothered to return the core, since the shipping was more than the core charge.

They're pretty good about working with you and giving you what you want. They have customer feedback posted from Canadians, so they must ship there. Can't hurt to drop them a line and ask.

David T is renowned for being a real rip off artist. He knows he owns the market for third gens, so he charges accordingly.

he problaby is he quoted me 125 for defroster switch and assembly, although another yard here quoted me 225 for a used switch my reponse was to leave a smoking trail out of hit rip off lot with my camaro here in the north east.

other options i use pick and pull, i got 2 hatch pull down assemblies for 18 bucks. Right now pick and pull is looking thin and i need some interiour parts and i guess i'll hit pick and pull in edmonton and possibly davidts
