2.8 TO 355 check it out.
Ok, I had an 82 Z28 that I swapped to a adverage 350...
Well that got wrecked and I bought an 84 RS.
Now it has a 355 after some alterations... here are some specs on the motor:
SHort block
10 to 1 355
trw forged pistons
clevete bearings
fed mogal plasma mo;y rings file fit
pink rods
stock gm crank
4 bolt main
balanced arp bolts
melling m55hv oil pump
stock 6qt pan and pickup
cloyes double roller timing chain
isky z35 solid lifter cam specs .565 intake lift on (1.6 rocker) .525 exhaust on (1.5 ratio) 254 253 at .050 duration 110 lobe sep
Iskys new drilled solid lifter for improved oiling to cam lobes(150 dollar lifter)
hardend oil pump drive rod and hardend fuel pump pushrod
top end (this is where it gets nice)
vortec heads casting(906)
stage 2 plus bowls and polish chambers by Tim at Air flow performance here in fresno.Specs are on his page.
they flow 267 and 202 on a small 178cc runner.awsome street strip head with great flow at low lift and awsome snap and top end power like a big aftermarket head.
VAlve springs
1.52 diameter solid double springs.(again isky)155 seat pressure 420 open.We also cut the guide to act as a spring locator so there is no spring walk.
valves are manlet stainless 1.56 exhaust 2.02 intake with undercut stem,
retainers isky jumbo 7 locks and retainers
rocker arms comp cams stainless 1.6 intake roller rocker 1.5 exhaust roller rocker.very high quality
pushrods kinda a mix but its what i had. isky .080 wall (8 of them) and comp .080 wall(8 of them)
Intake is a super victor with mild port work to the opening to match the heads
also comes with a water pump and water pump double groove billet aluminum and also the same for the crank pulley.
holley hv160gph fuel pump
MSD digital 6 and Blaster 2 coil with msd wires
polished gm performance valve covers that have the factory style baffels for better oil control.
Barry Grant 850 double pump tuned for the motor,
Hooker Long tubes,
went 12.20 at 112 with a very quik tune after a all night thrash to get it to the track. Will go 11.70s in a nice light well setup nova and will love some squirt.I would say with the right combo on a 200 shot you could see 10.20s all day in a 3200lbs or lighter car.
n/a it made 352whp and 445tq. with plenty more left in tuning.
Also bought the big Griffin direct fit for this car... gonna keep it nice and cool =)
Here are some pics of the motor in a El Camino. I'll update with some pics of it in my new Camaro
What do you guys think?

Re: 2.8 TO 355 check it out.
Different motor, the one described above blew the f*ck up...
New motor is a 010 block .060 over 4bolt main.
Here is a picture of the quote from the machine shop I took it to for a rebuild. I hope this comes together soon....
