LS1/T56 in the garage
Got a call Friday morning from the freight company that the engine/transmission had arrived. Went in the afternoon to pick it up, got it home and unloaded and unpacked. Only issue I see so far is the power steering pump pulley is busted, the cooler was packed in front of it and the whole thing wrapped in several layers of plastic wrap. It could have been bumped into and no evidence left. I'll contact the seller and see if he has a replacement, otherwise I'll just find one myself.
One more race in 2 weeks for the Camaro, then the project can begin. A lot of stuff to do, still need the swap install parts, and need to learn a lot (what are all those connectors for????).

Congrats on the new toy arriving!
I hope to do exactly what you are about to do to my '82 Berlinetta. I have a lot of learning to do on the swap, though.

Ask, and ye shall receive. . .
Hope that's good enough. I couldn't see any markings on it.
Oh, forgot A.I.R. delete in the list of "doing's".

Yup, that would be a Hurst shifter, I have one in my T56 and love the crispness of it, people around here have tried the B&M Ripper, Pro 5.0, Hurst and they all love the Hurst.

I've played with it a little, feels crisp to me, but can't say a whole lot with it sitting on the floor in the garage. . .
Where's reverse?

I emailed the seller about the pulley. He said he normally doesn't leave the cooler there, and won't again. He's sending me a replacement pulley next week.
So far, he's lived up to everything he said. Helps explain how he built up his 100% positive, 1160 feed back score.

Re: LS1/T56 in the garage
It will be rough putting it in reverse without power to the reverse lockout solinoid but it will go in.

I wondered about that. What activates/deactivates the solenoid? Vehicle speed?

eBay. 100% positive, 1160 feedback seller. $4k plus shipping (which was less than I expected). He's FedEx'd the replacement pulley. His eBay username includes "LS1".

Re: LS1/T56 in the garage
looking good..
the PCM does it for you... and yea, it uses vehicle speed.. anything over 3mph or something like that, and its locked out.
really, when driving, you forget it does it for you since, you never accidently go into reverse, and its effortless to put it in reverse when you need it.
and yea, thats a hurst shifter.... they're nice.
if you take the PCM part of the harness, and roll it out to the passenger side, next to the motor, there should be 3 underhood connectors near by, 2 in car connectors (unless they cut them off) and a purple single wire connector.
thoes are the only connectors you need to touch on that whole harness. everything else is attached to something on the motor or transmission...
