1988 CAMARO TBI NOW I PUT IN A 1991 TPI SD SYSTEM BUT IM HAVING PROBLEMS
WELL IT STARTS RIGHT AND KEEPS RUNNING THE PROBLEM IS WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING IT FEELS LIKE ITS HOLDING BACK ON THE POWER AND I WOULD SAY IT TAKES FOREVER TO REACH 50MPH COMPARED TO MY 89 ORIGINAL TPI IT DOES NOT GIVE ME ANY CODES I SET THE TIME 6 DEGREES NEW SPARK PLUGS 8MM CABLES ACCEL COIL EVEN WHEN YOU REV IT IN PARKING IT FEELS LIKE ITS NOT AT THE PERFORMANCE IT SHOULD BE ANYONE KNOW WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM THE CAR IS ORIGINALY 1988 CAMARO 305 TBI NOW 88 CAMARO 305 TPI POSI 700R4

i put a proper fuel pump because with the original fuel pump it would not turn on

im getting a little more than 45lb of pressure i think it has 2 1/2 they custom fit it at a shop

2.5" is probably too small. As in, stock TBI exhaust manifolds, I presume.
I don't know how much effect that would have on the SD system, but I'm sure it's not in the right direction.
If you haven't already, you might want to seek the wisdom of those on the TPI forum.

Hey i am new to tpi i just put a tpi unit on my 1967 chevy pickup and redid every thing wiring the works every thing is new i sent it to the local shop for tuning because it wasnt queit running right. Ten months late he gives it back he fixed one problem i had made a new one. Before i gave it to him it would start up and run ok tell u turned it off then it would just crank and u would have to let the engine cool off and clear the memory to start it again well he fixed that problem. But now it does just like what u said ur camaro does it feels like it has lake of power and doesnt sound right at a idle i am way pissed. I mean it ran better when i had a carb on it. any ifo u found out that might help would be great. Thanks
