Starter Question V6-V8
I have a (probably dumb) question.
What is the difference between a starter for a V6 with Auto and a V8 with Auto?
I have searched, but no answers.
Reason I ask is before I parked my car for my engine swap, I bought a brand new starter for the v6 and it only started the car twice, I really don't want to buy another piece if this one will fit and work. (but I'm pretty sure it won't)
If not, can I re-use some of the parts from the V6 one to rebuild one out of a V8?
BTW, It has the offset bolt pattern

Well I asked a local engine builder, he said I just have to change the silver piece that bolts onto the engine (starter head) and it will work on my V8.
