Yes to everything....
A complete parts car is always the best because you'll have every nut, bolt, and bracket that you need to get the job done. If you just have a 350 from the wrecking yard then you still need to find some third gens in the wrecking yard so that you can get your brackets, nuts, and bolts. You must use a V8 transmission because your V6 uses a different transmission bolt pattern and won't bolt up. If you have an automatic now, then any 700R4 tranny will work. You must re-use your tailshaft housing though, so that you can bolt your torque arm back on. If you have a 5 speed then you need the entire transmission from a V8 thirdgen for the swap to be a direct bolt in.
Any more clear?

A camaro will be fine. Then you can strip the rest of it and sell it here! That'll help your repair budget!
You should use the third gen brackets and accessories if possible to avoid clearance problems with the steering, exhaust and hood. Don't forget to use the third gen torque arm setup for your transmission!
