400 sbc or 350 fuel injected in 92 rs 6cyl camaro?
I have a 92 rs camaro with the 3.1 and auto trans. I am considering a v8 swap, but need some advice from people in the know, i am no mechanic so all advice is appreciated. There are two engines i am considering and that are available to me for sale locally. The first is a 350 with tranny out of 95 chevy tahoe. The second is a rebuilt small block 400 with carb with a TH350 tranny. If i go with the 400, how does the car run without the computer? Is just the engine disconnected and all else works, or do i need to change the computer out with an older camaro, etc? If i go with the 95 350, will i be able to get a computer from a junkyard that will plug into my harness and work? Will the 400 clear under my stock hood, and will it bolt right in and right up to my driveshaft? If anyone has done this, your help is appreciated. The 400 engine has (according to seller) been redone and has a lot of power, i think i would prefer that. I await your responses. thanks!

First, this is a V6 to V8 swap. Read that sticky above first.
As to the rest of your questions about the only one that is "yes" is that the 400 will fit under your hood. Everything else will require some degree of modification.
You could probably get the truck computer to run the engine in your car. Again, expect modifications, and that's assuming you get everything associated with engine control out of the truck.
Look for threads and tech articles about EFI (TBI, TPI) to carb conversions for how to make a non-computerized engine run in the car.
