Looks like you found a good combo that netted some good numbers. The only thing I question is a 3-inch carb spacer on an RPM air-gap manifold. The plenum volume was increased enough with that spacer to move the peak numbers up in the RPM band. Do you have Dyno numbers with and without the spacer? Just curious.

That motor should "motorvate" your wife's car pretty well. Sounds like a good street combo. Hope you got something in the '77 that'll keep up!

Later,
Boo.

I would think that cam would boost the RPM range higher then that... hmm, interesting.

Good setup, with mostly stock internals it doesn't sound like that would break the bank either.

Yes I have numbers with and with out there carb and spacer. they always break engines in with there carb. there carb has the 3inch spacer on it. they ran 4 runs with that set up adjusting the timeing a little till they found what the motor likes. We then put my mighty demon 650 on it ran 2 runs rejetted itabd nade 2 more runs. The power band didn't shift that much and there wsn't much of a gain with the spacer. But the Torque curver didn't change alot with the spacer. but it made a fair amount more torque with out the spacer.

Well her TA needs a trans and exhaust yet to finish it up. But she has given me the green light to build my 473 poncho in the next year or so for the 77.

It's not a high dollar motor by any means. But it sound nice and made decent numbers. the true test will be if the wife is happy and if it putts down good numbers on the track.

Powerband and peak power RPM are 2 different things.

However, I would think a 750 carb would up the peak #'s a bit.

(The video links aren't working for me.)

What size was the Holley?

Tech lines tend to under-recommend, just to keep people from over-doing it. Same with cam companies, Comp recommended an XS274 for me, I heard from TGO members to try the XS282, it performs just as people here said it would.

I have no doubt that a 750 CFM would produce more power from the start of the cam powerband on up.

But, the 650 certainly is putting out some serious grunt.
