Mopar 360 into 3rd gen?

Mopar 360 into 3rd gen?
considering dropping my mopar 360 small block into my '88 camaro. Any thoughts? It seems the motor is somewhat slimmer but slightly taller and longer by 3" on the bottom end than a SBC. I'm wondering if I have to move the firewall back for that bottom end length? I know I could get a taller hood for the height so...
Anyone ever do this swap or seen it done? Also included a link for all dimensions for many brands if considering a swap:
engine dimension info for swaps
I've put the dimensions for both below:
Dimensions IN INCHES:
A Outside of valve cover to outside of other valve cover
B Outside of exhaust manifold to outside of other exhaust manifold
C Height from bottom of sump to top of air cleaner
D Height from bottom of sumt to highest point on intake manifold
E Height from bottom of sump to top of Carburetor
F Length from rear mounting surface to water pump pulley
G Length from rear of intake manifold to water pump pulley
Chevy SB 350 A-22 B-26 C-27 D-27 E-25 F-26.5 G-25
Mopar V8 360 A-20.5 B-25 C-31 D-29.5 E-28 F-29.5 G-23.5
Appreciate any information/advice.

i have seen a hemi in a 3rd gen before, it was actually a bonneville salt flat car. i think it was an all aluminum hemi punched out to 500+ cubic inches. exhaust came out the fenders. it also had a 1471 blower.

It isn't a terrible idea, but you will need to get a transmission too. And a special drive shaft made. If you are going to carb it you will be in good shape for electronics wise if not you will need a computer and a harness.
The 360 is a stout torquey motor. Not alot of aftermarket if compared to the 350. However, it would be fast but not a monster, unless you drop some bucks.
Also you will need to figure out the motor mounts and get a low profile oil pan.
Good luck.

Well, Mr. Cartographer hasn't been back. Hard to say how serious this really is.
I will say this before Mr. steps in: In my opinion, the best that 360 can do for you to maximize the benefit in a 3rd gen is to sell the engine and use the proceeds to buy a 350.
If you decide to go through with the hybrid, you're pretty much on your own as far as figuring it all out.
Good luck.
