lt1 frame mount fuel pump?
has anyone used a frame mount fuel pump instead of replacing the one in the tank. if so which one did you use and what was the procedure you went through to install it. did you leave the old one in the tank and just ran the frame mount or did you take it out. i have no idea on how to go about installing a fuel pump like this so some information is needed. i did a search on the site and found nothing.

Frame mount pump
I used a frame mount pump when the LT-1 was swapped into my wifes Jeep CJ,,,only choice really since the Jeep originally had a mechanical anyway.
If this is the route you want to go I highly recommend removing the in tank pump,,,,electric pumps are good pushers, not pullers, and it would have to work extremely hard to pull fuel through a dead pump that is still in the tank.
Off hand, I can't remember the brand pump that was used, I bought the entire retrifit package from Howell Engine Developments Inc. that makes wire harnesses etc,,,,for installing newer computer controlled engines in older vehicles, and they supplied the correct In-line fuel pump and filter setup for my application. You might want to give them a call, they are a helpfull bunch, 810-765-5100 Hope that helps, Larry.
