305 to 350 swap, few unanswered questions

A couple questions, well maybe one important one. Sorry I did search but as I did, all I found were threads containing the same words just not my exact topic. I would have been searching for years. If I could get help I’d greatly appreciate it.

I am about to undertake a 305-350 swap.

Time is not on my hand and next week is the only time permitted for me to do a swap. I don’t necessarily have the money for proper tuning/equipment.

My questions are,
If I use the 305 fuel injectors, 305 computer and 305 knock sensor. With an AFPR will the engine run; Run for a couple of weeks without any major problems besides erratic idle and not the most performance?

If so, what fuel pressure should the system be set at to act as 22# injectors? I know this puts strain on the fuel pump but she’s brand new, well only 13k miles old.

After I get the cash needed for the proper swap, I’ll need 350 injectors, 350 ECM, and 350 knock sensor correct?

Since I am using a little bit larger (lol well a bit larger) then stock cam, I will be able to tune slightly easier with the AFPR...

Cam specs, 212/214 duration@.050, and .442//465 lift with 112lsa.

You can reuse the 305 computer, it is the same for a 350. You would just need the 350 knock sensor, and 350 prom for your application. If you have a MAF setup, I'm not sure if the EST is the same for the 305 and 350. I would look into that if I were you.

To bring 19 lb injectors up to a 22 lb flow rate you would need to raise the fuel pressure to 57~58 psi. If you do that, there is a high likelihood that you are going to have another new fuel pump soon, especially if you have a stock replacement pump in the tank right now.

If I were you, I wouldn't run the car on the 305 chip. If you have to do the swap now, I would go ahead and do it, but not drive the car until you have the right prom. You can pick up a used one for $25 easily.

If you narrow your search to within the TPI board, you will find atleast a couple of hundred posts with this same topic covered over and over, you just have to learn how to use descriptive words to narrow your search down.

ok well i'm about to buy a 350 prom and 350 knock sensor. I have been donated 8 low mileage LT1 24# injectors, will they work without prom tuning. IMO they might be better since i am using a larger cam and the ecm wont have to adjust much for more fuel....
