lt1 intake conversion
I have a question I was hoping you all could answer?! I was gonna use a lt1 converted intake manifold from www.lt1intakes.com what I wanted to know was would I use the tpi runners and plenum or would I get to use the lt1 runners and plenum?

ok... you are lost.. if you are going to use an LT1 intake manifold.. how the hell are you going to use the TPI runners and manifold?
LT1 Runners??? LT1 plenum???
did you actually visit the webite?? did you look at the "completed" section?
no sniffing baggs with glue in them.. go back to the LT1intake website and read, before the next person becomes

The lt1 is a single cast piece, no separate plenum, runners, or baseplate.
One more notch on my post count, yeah!!!

*Sigh* I guess you guys are better than me because I didn't know about how the lt1 intake was set-up?huh...but how do people learn if they can't ask questions...you barbarians weren't born knowing...some one had to show you so why bash me for trying to learn...and on my computer I can't get any pics of the parts, just boxes with little red x's so I figured I'd ask you all a mistake on my part I won't soon be repeating!

The LT1 intake replaces the entire base, runner and plenum set-up of the stock TPI. It is a single unit peice that incorperates all those 3 things. Its design is far superior to that of the stock TPI and greatly makes use of an engines entire powerband.
For someone who is new to TPI and LT1 I can see where there would be a mix up due to the 3 peice design of the TPI intake. One could assume that the LT1 would be of similar design and that a combination of the two provide the results of this conversion. Go away trolls. Recess is about over anyways isn't it?
EDIT: And by the way, the LT1 intake does have a plenum and runners. It is just a single piece. However, you guys already new that though.

damn i'll be honest ive never seen one and figured that there was a baseplate and upper manifold,(to allow porting) but how in the hell would you put tpi parts on a LT1, throttlebody maybe? i suggest you find and ask a single or a few knowledgeable people online, aim, pm etc. stupid questions usually attract stupid people and the militia.
And yes i expect to take a beating for this

Calico, I don't see any "bashing" there. Some light-heartedness, perhaps, but no attempts to belittle.
We're here to share tech info about 3rd gen f-bodies. This topic skirts the limits of board rules because no 3rd gens had LT1's from the factory. However, many are putting them in their 3rd gens, so this is where it is discussed.
You'll get a lot more co-operation and information here if you grow a little skin and ask relevant questions.

I find that it helps me get positive responses from the more premiere members of the site if I start a post with "I know this is a stupid question, but...." People here WANT to help others, but sometimes they stick around too late at night and start to get irritable hehe.
Hope this didnt scare you from the site
