LS1 Vs. LT1

I need to clarify this up. I was thinking about a LT1 swap because it sounds like its rather straight forward. But people werre telling me you mines as well go for the LS1...and i said that is much more difficult. And they said yea but the LS1 puts 310 to the wheels, and the LT1 puts only 275HP to the crank...Is this True?? its hard to believe they did that big of a jump from the lt1 to the ls1..that would mean the ls1 puts out like 370 or so to the crank, right??? also, i see fbodymotorsports.com has a bunch of brakets that they say you "NEED" to do the swap...can these brakets be homemade with some homemade fabrication?? And from the guys that have doen the Ls1 swap, how difficult really is it?? I got a whole winter, should I go for it??

It looks like it would be pretty easy to fab up those parts.

Yes for the mounts, but you still need electronics and fuel system.

what all has to be done for the fuel lines. You just need fittings to convert them am I right?? I read something about plumbing another return line or something, then i need a hiflow fuel pump too. also i realize about the gauges. I'm gonna get a whole new 4th gen interior, so all the guages should be alright...then i'm just gonna get the wiring harness with the engine its self...what other major things am i missing???

I'm not sure on everything but you need a higher pressure fp. I can't remember if the LS1 is returnless.
