Swapping 305TPI for 350, what do I do about chip for 5speed car?
Pretty much like the topic says, I got a Goodwrench Caprice Motor (part #12513151), and I'm swapping it in place of more old 305TPI, however its a 5-speed car, and no 350 came witha 5-speed, so what can I do about getting a chip for it? Please don't tell me to burn one I don't know how and don't want to get into that just yet for a stock engine. Thanks guys.

On the other hand, I at one time used the 350 Auto chip with my 5 sp, and it had a host of issues regarding tune and driveablilty which were solved by going to the manual trans chip.
Hope this helps.

I have a similar issue with my GTA. I just put a 6-speed in and want to be sure that the ECM knows what is going on. What I'd like to know is, will a Corvette manual chip work, or am I going to have to have one burned? I have little interest in burning my own chips until I start getting into engine mods. I look at computers all day, and don't want to dilly dally with one at home.

Sorry, I really didn't mean to highjack your thread. It sounds like we could both use a Corvette manual chip and be fine. I have also looked into some other options and founf that most chip companies will burn you a custom chip for a fee. Jet seems to be the big name group that is the most willing, but they are expensive. There is a guy on eBay(tpichips), as well as tpichips.com that will hook you up for a mere $104. You tell him what you have, and he sets you up with a chip.
