V6 to 350
Hey everyone,
By some miracle of christ i am getting a free 350 TBI from a GMC truck and also the transmission. Now i currently have a really puny weak 3.1 the body is in great shape so i don't want to get a new car. Aside from the computer and the Wiring harness what else will i need to complete the swap? Will the fuel pump have to go? And how about the guages? Any help would be greatly appreaciated.

You are doing the basic V6 to V8 swap, with some twists, so read that stickie above.
The twists:
1) The transmission won't work directly in your car. There is an outside chance you can take the tail housing off your V6 tranny and put it on the truck tranny and get it to work. It really depends upon what this truck was. At worst, you'll have to get a crossmember/torque arm mount from our sponsor Spohn (see button at the top of the page).
2) Your best bet would be to get a V8 TBI donor car for the V8 things you'll need, and mix & match the TBI things between the car & truck to get your car running.
3) Either get a TBI pump in the tank, or an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. You might want to search the TBI board for suggestions on a good pump to use.
The only gage issue will be the tach. If you follow my advice in 2), that will solve that problem (as long as the donor car is a Camaro of similar year as yours).
