early engine 91 camaro?
I have a 76 engine block that is 2 piece rear seal and planning on bulding it up..But will that fit into my 91 camaro since mine is a 1 piece? What would be done to make it work?
Thanks

From the research I've found on this topic is, you need a different flexplate and a possible different starter( staggered or straight bolt mounting pattern) the knock sensor will fit as well. Not sure about the oil pressure sending unit next to the distributer on your old block.

Use a 153-tooth (12-3/4") flexplate for '85-earlier, 2-piece rear main seal. Your current starter will then work.
The dipstick on the '76 is on the driver's side. Stock 3rd gen exhaust manifolds don't allow the dipstick tube to fit without severe bending. Either go with headers, or get a Lokar flexible dipstick tube.
The oil pressure port has always been there by the distributor. However, if you have something above the oil filter now, the older block won't have that port.
I hope you aren't planning on using the '76 heads. There's about a 99% chance they are early smog era junk. Don't spend a nickel on them, the only fate they deserve is remelt.

Thanks for the info. Im planning on building the engine up 355 with some nice aluminum heads and other goodies probably around 380hp. I just didnt want to go buy a block if i dont have too.
