The heads are garbage (993). The pistons are dished. Everything about it is the cheapest possible. It's not a very good platform for a buildup.

i plan on getting pistons, i plan on maybe even boring it if need be. i can always go to a junk yard and get other 350 heads correct? better ones? i don't need anything nuts all i'm looking for is around 350hp or so

edit: oh an by the way.. the motor is only 100 bucks and i know it needs to be rebuilt, and anything right now is better then my 305 i have right now.. even this motor stock is better then my 305 by about 100hp.

If you're planning on swapping pistons and heads anyway why buy that engine?Abetter plan might be to buy an assembled shortblock and pick whatever cam and heads you like to add to it.Might just save you time and money in the long run. Scoggin Dickey sells the GMPP zz shortblock(from zz4 crate 350 motor) for under $2000 .If you don't want to assemble your own bottom end that looks like it would be a good foundation for a 350 hp engine. They also sell an l98 shortblock for like $1300 if the other one is outta your budget.

Car: 1991 Camaro RS
www.sdpc2000.com for the L98 shortblock
Get a pair of modified vortec heads while you are it and a LT1 hot cam or XE 268 cam.

http://www.wheelermotorsports.com/shortblock.html

check them out for shortblocks too. Go with vortec heads or protoplines for this shortblock.

Hi
I agree with the above post's That Goodwrench motor is NOT
( in my opinion of course) Worth trying to get a Bunch of power out of it . It is a lowly stock replacement engine, It would take a bunch of $$$$$ to get it to work as you wish, I know i had one
and it was JUNK maybe i was just unlucky ( hope so) But as far as building a good high HP engine look to the crate engines
ZZ4 or 350 ho or any of the "name" builders or build it yourself
and at least YOU will know what you have , good luck ......GTA
