Aluminum fan shroud...
I got one of these off of ebay and want to know if anyone is using something similar, and does it help keep tempratures down?....trying to link to picture but not having any luck..ebay item # is 2440365847

Well, I added a stupid shroud to a car I used to have, and it went from running hot/borderline overheating in average weather, to running cool like it should in ANY weather with the AC on as well. Never measured a temp drop, but believe me it did work. Thats why many cars with conventional fans have them. You will even find some with electric fans that have a bit of a shroud.

Yes, you are right, a shroud does make a difference. I thought the guy was replacing his plastic one with that nice aluminum piece.
How long do you suppose it will take for someone on this board to start fabricating an aluminum shroud? And, BTW, if they can do it for the price that War_Eagle paid, I'd be interested. Hey War... you are going to polish the top part before you install it, right?

I'm getting the polishing supplies ready as we speak I'll get pictures of before and after posted when I get finished.....I also apologize for putting this on the wrong board, it should have been on the cooling boards .....

Dude that was a steal at 50 bucks. Hell around here a good welder charges about $55 bucks an hour plus you have the fab work and metal. I seriously doubt anyone would build one for under $150 just my opinion.
