76 350 (165hp) into 82 CFI Z-28
Okay first off, let me say, this engine has dynomax headers, and a performer rpm intake. Both new, I also have a holley 600 going on this car to replace the qjet. While the engine is out, I obviously want to put in a few components to pep this engine up. What would u guys suggest, I am thinking maybe a summit cam (not a tight tight budget, but tight enough to save 100$ when I can), then maybe buy some used heads, the cheapest possible, which would you suggest, I really do not want to spend more then 400$ for used head, although I know good heads go for far more then this. What else really needs to be done to get a nice little low 14 second street car possibly 13's with traction.
Thanks for your help, and setups/numbers would be great, thanks again guys.
Oh yeah, one last thing, to make this qualify as motor swap, what needs to be converted so I can make my 82 Z carb. Do i need the fuel pump out of the 75? What about wiring, will it all swap over correctly for carb, thanks again, no emissions.

Why pay $400 for used heads when you can get a brand new pair of Vortec heads from GM for around $450? Any fuel pump will work depending on horse power (elec or mech) to swith over to a carb the only power source you need is to the choke, everything else is mechanical.
