How Hard Is A 305 To 350 Swap??
I've had it with the old 305 in my 92 RS. Assuming I find an 87 or newer 350, how hard is this swap?? I assume it is easy, but I have a limited budget.
Anyone ever do this before?

I put a 350 crate motor in my 92 RS about a year and a half ago.
If you've swapped engines before, it's not more difficult than most. Be careful with all the wiring, there's a lot of it.
The harness has several grounds bolted to the rear of the cylinder heads that are tough to get to, until the motor's up and forward a little, so go slow.
You'll want to get injectors, a knock sensor and esc module for the 350.
A chip change is usually required as well. A cop car caprice chip will usually work with an automatic trans, or there are lots of other sources for custom chips which are better.
If you need any of the part #'s email me.

Car: 89 Camaro RS
Engine: 350 carbed now
Transmission: World Class T5
Axle/Gears: Peg Leg w/ 3.73's
Well I have done at least 15 motor swaps into different fbodys and other hot rods and the 305 tbi-350 tbi in my car was the hardest ever, it requires alot of tuning, but like rich said you get the injectors, esc, knock sensor, and maybe a chip and you should be set ,just dont rush anything , take your time and make sure everything is where it should be ,and make sure the motor your swapping in is a good one, youll here alot of different things from people who have done this, some say its easy others say its hard , it all depends on the different situations. Good luck.
