First get em on, then we'll tell you its a waste of time.

Sorry, couldn't resist...

An LS1 is a totally different design from the SBC, and they share no common parts. So no, they will not fit.

even if they did fit. why the hell would you wanna do that.

the higher compression you get would be canceled out by the lack of flow from the heads.

hold on, there are some common parts between the LS1 and the SBC. I think they are as follows: the rod bolts. I think that is it

Even if you could do it, it would be a huge waste of time. LS1 heads flow awesome numbers and the weight savings of aluminum are always beneficial.

Since an LS1 is a SBC, a better way to put it would be that you can't interchange heads between generations. Most of the engines before '93 are first generation engines, the LT- is the second generation engine design, and the LS- is the third generation engine design.

Ah, but you can change heads between 1'st and 2'nd generation(with modification of course). You can modify the coolant passages and switch them. There are some fourthgen guys with 15 degree gen 1 small block heads on gen 2 blocks because there arent such high end heads made for the gen 2 blocks.
