All LT1 Corvette accessories and hood closure?

From all that I've searched and read on here... it just seems A TON easier to just get all LT1 Corvette accessories and brackets... seems like it will just save a ton of work than notching the frame, redoing the motor mounts, bla bla, test fit ment of the a/c compressor, re-welding bla bla...

But, if you run all LT1 Corvette accessories and brackets - will the stock 3rd gen hood close just fine ? Any disadvantages to using all LT1 Corvette accessory brackets ?? Seems to save a ton of work, no ?

PS. I assume all LT1 accessories are exactly the same from Vette to F-body, right ? Except the brackets... ??

From what I have seen and read the Vette acessories will fit and it is an easier swap. The biggest hang up is $$$$. I would sugest decideing if you want A/C or not as that is the biggest obsticale. If you want it the Vette way is eaisier but a lot more costly if you don't want/need A/C go with a F body set up and save your self the $$$.
I know the A/C compressor for sure is different and have been told but never verifed the the alternators are different and not intercahable too.
My sugestion if you really want the Vette set up is to bit the money bullet and buy the whole Vette LT1 set up or you will pay a lot more to buy the acesoires seperate if you can find them.

Well, I just test fitted mine and no problems. No notching and using original motor mounts from 305 carbed motor. The pic is kind of bad and doesnt show it with the a/c compressor and alternator on the motor but we checked them also and had absolutely no problems. The motor is not as tall so no hood closure problems at all. The only reason we test fitted at all is to get an idea on which headers needed notching for the install prior to them getting coated. Turns out the Hooker's fit like a glove.

Cooling system

There are some differences with the cooling system. The Corvetter cooling system is a closed loop very low pressure system. Heater hoses and cooling hoses are run different then the Fbody LT-1.

I remember reading that the vette system is closed and ~14psi. The fbody system is closer to 18-20psi and considered an open system.

Should not be a big deal. However, you would need to do a little work rerouting the hoses and maybe with the overflow resevior.

I relocated my resevior tank just over the air damn. Quite similar to a stock 4th gen. I found a gas can from a lawn mower that fit perfectly. No fabrication needed. If you are anywhere near the North East Ohio I can tell you where to find one...

Only FYI

I found this site very informative and highly detailed. However, not completely relevant. It talks all about the reverse coolant system. Also speaks in detail about the differences between the Fbody and the Corvette cooling.
