What do you think of Scat 9000 cranks?

Looking at which crank I should get for my 383. I have a 350 4-Bolt block...will be using 4340 forged rods, SRP forged pistons....Im not sure if I should go with a Scat 9000 crank...or a 4340 forged crank. I will probably pushing 450-500 horsepower....keeping it under 6500rpm. I am also planning on running a 150-200hp shot of nitrous. I want the engine to survive...but I'd rather put my money else where if the crank will be strong enough for my setup. What do you guys think?

was this a Scat Crank, I was thinking about a Scat 9000 for my SBC 400 that will have about 450-500 hp/tq. i read wgere David Vizard was using these same cranks in his motors.

Wow! This is the first I have heard of people unhappy with Scat products. What is the problem? Quality control?

well

it was burrs..... if you have say ever grinded somthing, and you still have hose peices of metal that is still part of what you grinded but readt to come off......

i washed it down and everything, but they just didn't dislodge.....

i called brian at scat and he said it was my resoncibility for not seeing it and i should have sent it back, i told him it shouldn't be the coustermers responcibility to have to look over their work and he ought to be ashamed of himself.....

phil at flatlander told be it was scats fault and he would pay to have the crank turned and send me new bearings......

i'd get one from them again if i had to, i guess i was trying to just drive home about checking and washing everything down to it's at a point where you can eat of it... this way you know it's right!
