Crate engines or mods that WILL pass CA smog
I've been asking a few people here and there over the last year what they recommend as far as crate engines and such for me. I live in CA and want to pass smog by the book. I'm just wondering what people HAVE done to their car and still pass fine. What engines have you put in, or what mods have you done/brands have you used.....
My 91 Z28 deserves a new engine. I'm looking for more power, but I don't want to do an LT1 or LS1 swap. I know that www.goautocenter.com has a new engine with 300 HP for about $2,000 that people have passed smog without any changes. Money is not a problem... I've been saving for a while. I really do want to hear all of your thoughts, but hopefully real stories of people passing smog.
I'd like to know about mods done to engines in CA in addition to whole engine replacements. I really appreciate all the help I can get.
Thanks
