These heads any good?
I just ran the head casting numbers on my 350 this is what i came up with
462624.....75-86...350/400......76cc chamber, 1.72/1.5, 1.94/1.5 or 2.02/1.6 valves
are these heads any good? also one site i went on said these heads are crack prone. are they worth a rebuild?
Thanks

They're smog heads. You could put money into them, but unless you do your own grinding and cutting, you probably won't come out ahead. BTW, if they don't get hot they probably won't crack. The car that they are in has more to do with engine failure than the engine.

So im probably better off going with the set of vortec heads i might get off a friend, also the block number is 3970010 i ran those numbers and it came up with
350...69-80...2 or 4 bolt main
another site says it was used in some high performance applications
low power 180
high power 370
car,truck,vette
does this mean the motor has 370 hp?

No... it had 170 or 180 HP.
010 blocks were used in everything from 350 Nova 2-barrels to trucks to Z28s and Corvettes. It's a block, nothing special one way or another. The HP rating depended on what heads were on it, what pistons were in it, what induction system it had on it, and what ratings standard was used at the time the rating was conjured up.
A 350 with 462 heads was probably one of the 2-barrel variety. So the pistons would have been the dish kind that always was used with the extremely low-perf smog heads.
