Here is my plan...
I'm gonna pick up a stock 350 f-body longblock for under $1000 (still researching price). That engine should fit right into our cars, TPI should bolt right on. All the other mods like prom burning, plenum porting, cold air, exhaust, gear, etc...should make me pretty quick for now. And when I get some money in the future, then upgrade the heads, cam, or maybe even stroke it to a 383.

Assuming your car is '87-later, this is a decent engine for a mild swap. http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...id=128&pid=105

Cool! Could that engine work with the TBI setup? Or any other induction for that matter? I was thinking of going to a local police auction and looking at some of the cars and engines there. Does anyone think this is an idea worth doing? Thanks,

I have a 92 Caprice Police crate motor in mine & it works very well. They have hypereunetic pistons with 9.8:1 compression. However, I swapped & sold the cam & heads & used World Torquers & a Lunati cam. This is a good deal for $1500.

Thanks, I'll try to hit the next police auction in town. Also, I figured that the 426 Hemi had enough power for me and I have always liked yellow convertibles, and I love 'Cudas!!!!!!! Thanks,

A Gm crate engine is a good option. I had a new 92 RS but within a year I said screw the warranty and dropped in a H.O. 350 ZZ3 (365HP). I used the TBI and installed SLP headers/Thrush Cat-back system. The TBI worked out good and provided better drivability than I thought it would. It was a good setup and was a blast to drive but the suspension had to be upgraded due to the increase in power. So I pirated a posi, disc-brake rear-end and proportioning valve off a T/A, installed Corvette Brakes sway bars, PST springs and Koni adjustables.
I sold the car after a few years ...boy do I miss it...my current 92 is stock.
