ZZ4/430 Driveability
In another couple months I'll have enough for my car mods. I still haven't decided whether to go with a crate engine or rebuild my L98. Anyway....
If I get a ZZ4 or take it up to a ZZ430.. I was wondering if it would be an okay daily driver. I don't want it too too loud. Maybe a little louder than my 5.7 with flowmasters. I just don't want to attract too much attention from the sound (no cops )
How streetable would these 2 engines be... I will be probably changing the gears and of course upgrading the suspension/tranny/rear as well.
Also, how many miles could I expect to get out of these 2 engines.. if I baby my car... except for the occasional rice/ford beating.

I have a co-worker/fellow racer who has a ZZ3 (basically the same as ZZ4) in his '90 RS, converted to SD TPI. He's done a bunch of other stuff to the engine, like cam & porting, dual cat exhaust, and passes our emissions inspection and testing with flying colors. He's running through ported cast iron manifolds, but has SLP headers in the plan.
I don't know about the ZZ430, but either way, you can figure on TPI upgrades (aftermarket runners, porting of plenum & base, TB, PROM) to get it to work right and run clean.
